As a digital and communications specialist for HRA, I shoot video of our shelter animals, as well as collaborate with our photographer/videographer to produce shoots with staff. I edit the videos for our social media channels to promote our adoptable animals, as well as highlight our community programs and the life-saving work done every day by the organization. I've also launched several video series, which feature custom graphics I created for each.
I worked as a video editing intern for the nonprofit video archive, Media Burn, while I was attending grad school. I mined their extensive archive for content that I could shorten and write blog posts about that would then be promoted on social media. This role required not only video editing knowledge, but also research and writing skills.
While working at National Geographic, I oversaw the production of two digital interactives from start to finish. For each project, I worked with a producer to research the topic, write copy, and design and build each element. We also collaborated with our UX teams to ensure each product functioned properly and delivered the best user experience possible.
